A woman has died in the middle of a Virgin Australia flight from Brisbane to Melbourne.

A woman has died in the middle of a flight between Brisbane and Melbourne.

The passenger reportedly collapsed on the Virgin Australia flight about 9.30am on Monday morning.

Flight crew performed CPR on the woman, and the plane was given priority landing at Melbourne airport in Tullamarine about 10.15am.

Emergency crews were reportedly waiting on the tarmac to aid the woman.

Despite the passenger being rushed off the aircraft, she later died.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.

“Virgin Australia can confirm a medical emergency on board flight VA308 travelling from Brisbane to Melbourne this morning,” a Virgin spokesperson told NewsWire.
