Heidelberg grandfather wins $1 million prize in Tattslotto’s Monday draw
A HEIDELBERG grandfather has become an instant millionaire after winning Division One of Monday night’s Tattslotto draw — but he won’t directly benefit from the prize. Here’s why.
A MELBOURNE man plans to spend his million-dollar lottery winnings on buying a new home to make room for his three orphaned grandchildren.
The Heidelberg grandfather was “flabbergasted” after taking out the $1 million division-one prize in Monday night’s Tattslotto draw.

The unexpected cash will go a long way toward caring for his late son’s three kids, he said.
“I really need this money for them as we need to move into a bigger home,” said the unnamed man, who bought the winning ticket at a Rosanna newsagency.
“I’ve been looking at homes in a quieter suburb close by, but I knew I couldn’t afford them.
“We can move now and I can rest. I can rest knowing they will be looked after.”
His mega prize haul was boosted to $1,005,591 after also winning division three 12 times and division four 15 times.
The stunned grandfather’s lucky numbers are family-inspired, but have been less than fruitful over the years until now.
“I’ve been playing those numbers on that ticket since Tattslotto started,” he said.
“I chose those numbers using the birth dates of my kids, one of who is my son who passed away.”
