IN-N-OUT Burger might be refusing to open a restaurant in Sydney but something that promises to be even better is coming to the city - but only for a limited time.
Hashtag Burgers, the brains behind Burgapalooza, the Sydney burger festival that sold out earlier this year, have been inspired by the legendary American chain and will open a pop-up restaurant at the Sir John Young Hotel in the CBD on June 7.
Sneakily named Down-N-Out, the pop-up will be open for a month and offer a simple menu similar to that of the original In-N-Out in California.
The famous ‘secret’ menu that you won’t find on the boards at In-N-Out but are even more popular than the featured menu - such as Animal Fries and lettuce-wrapped protein style burgers - will also make an appearance at Down-N-Out, but the team will leak what they are once the doors open.
There’s no question Sydney has a craving for an In-N-Out-style establishment in the city, with thousands of people lining up for hours when the chain opened a pop-up store in Surry Hills earlier this year.
Lining the streets from as early as 6am in January, many fans were left gutted when the supply ran out before they reached the counter.
Down-N-Out’s month-long stay at the Sir John Young should mean that everyone will get a chance to get their mouth around one of the inspired burgers.
Whether they live up to the In-N-Out standard they’ve set themselves will soon be seen.
