THESE days burgers aren’t just known for their taste.

Now it is all about the experience and if new business The Burger Run is anything to go by, it will be an experience you won’t forget.

The Burger Run is a food truck that will travel across Sydney giving burger lovers a taste of what’s on offer. And its first stop is Parramatta.

Owner Aziz Ishak said his business was going to bring a vibe to the suburbs of Sydney.

“Just like an old school block party, where great friends get together, chow down on banging

burgers and kick it to rap and R’n’B beats,” he said.

Mr Aziz said while there would be a range of burger options up his sleeve, each night the menu would consist of one burger and style of fries “keeping the decision making process simple but the experience and flavours epic.”

The thought came to Mr Aziz a few years ago when he and his wife travelled to New York and Los Angeles.

“We basically ate our way through both cities with a focus on burgers. Walking through the streets of New York — uptown, downtown, Brooklyn and Queens, the concept became apparent — a mobile block party with killer burgers. I became obsessed with the idea,” he said.

He began working on the concept once the couple returned to Australia.

“Food trucks are also picking up here in Sydney so it seemed like the perfect plan.”

The main reason The Burger Run started however, was, in Mr Aziz’s own words “For the love of burgers”.

“Our menu is basically the food my wife and I love to eat. We offer shaker fries which are an old school classic that I’ve wanted someone to bring back for years but no one does it. We really just want to share our ideas and the food that we love with others and have some fun. It’s tough putting yourself out there but we hope others appreciate our ideas and we are confident that our food is lipsmacking good.”

With burger places popping up all over the place, Mr Aziz knew he had to make his business different.

“For one, we are mobile. We won’t be in the same spot week after week. Our burgers are made

with fresh quality ingredients, our buns are made especially — not those dry buns you usually find at your usual fast food chains. We use a Wagyu beef patty. All salads are fresh and we make our own special sauces,” he said.

“We also hope to provide people with an experience, not only a great meal. But a place where people can meet and enjoy the music they grew up listening to. They don’t make music like they did back in the day anymore.”

The truck, which sports a giant Biggie Smalls and Tupac painting on its side will play old school beats, with DJ Tonez from Tonez Entertainment entertaining customers.

“If you grew up in the 90s you’d know why we chose to have Biggie Smalls and Tupac painted on the truck. We are massive fans. It also sets the scene for our concept. The portraits were spray painted by a talented mural Melbourne-based artist, Adnate. How dope is the artwork though?”

Parramatta was chosen as the spot to launch the burger business after Mr Aziz said he loved the diversity and community feel that the area offered.

The menu for this week’s launch includes the Notorious Burger which has a Wagyu beef patty, Colby cheese, pickles, balsamic caramelised red onion and special sauce on a glossy pillowy soft bun.

“We will also be serving up shaker fries this week with a choice of salt ‘n’ vinegar, spicy barbecue and cool ranch. You can’t go wrong,” Mr Aziz said.

Details: The Burger Run will be parked at Zip Hand Carwash, 132 Victoria Rd, North Parramatta on Friday, May 13 and Saturday, May 14, from 6pm.
