BREAKFAST looms large in Erskineville whether you’re in need of an artery-clogging monster, an Israeli icon or a morning staple — but that’s not to knock the awesome shakes or ribs.

1. The Klogger

IF last night was a blast but your morning’s been a killer, head out for some hangover help with the Klogger — a bacon, peanut butter, cheese and burnt fig jam toastie topped with a fried egg.

2. Shakshuka

Point to it, spell it or sound it out, but whatever you do, order the shakshuka. This traditional Israeli breakfast of a tomato sauce, seasoned with garlic and chilli, is topped with two fried eggs and served in a bowl with pita bread.

3. Tella Ball Shake

Willy Wonka would have marvelled. The Tella Balls, doughnuts filled with Nutella, are a true treat but poke a straw through the centre to slurp the Nutella milkshake and you’ve got yourself a golden ticket.

Take the fast track to this funky Japanese sake bar and restaurant for their 24-hour slow-cooked ribs. Pair it with cold sake.

5. Breakfast Bruschetta
