1. MIXED BBQ PLATE

Once just a small corner shop Abdul’s has been serving some of the best Lebanese food since 1968. Three generations and an expansion later, Omar Ghazal continues the family business.

2. BOILED CRAB

Don your bibs and prepare to a take a fair crack at a tasty spread of boiled crabs coated in a variety of seasonings. Try it with Creole Butter for some traditional Cajun flavour.

3. GALUB JAMUN

This Indian dessert gets its name from the Persian words for “flower water” which is likely the scent from the rose water syrup that these deep fried, milk-solids dough balls are soaked in prior to eating . Maya Vegetarian, 480 Cleveland St.

4. GRILLED PORK

There is an element of theatre to Porteño . Argentinian grills are adjusted for height depending on the amount of heat required, while succulent pork is roasted for eight hours on a stake placed nearly perpendicular to the open fire pit. Porteno, 358 Cleveland St.

5. BIG DADDY’S BBQ PLATTER

Fridays can’t come soon for the $18 BBQ Platter. Definitely share this one, as there’s no skimping on the pulled pork, baby back ribs, hot wings, fried chicken and corn.
