Eyebrows raised after ‘roach-infested’ property spotted with $2 million price tag
Eyebrows have been raised over a $2 million house in Sydney that a former tenant said was thronging with roaches and dodgy wiring.
The owner of a “cockroach-infested” property has been called out for listing their two-storey space for $2 million despite its history of having an extensive list of concerning ailments.
A man on Monday shared a review from someone familiar with the graffiti-covered property, located in Sydney’s Inner West, which according to a former tenant, was barely habitable.
“A friend of mine used to live in this place before it was turned back to into an office. They had the worst roach problem I’ve ever seen,” a post to social media referencing the home on Enmore Road in Enmore, read.
“There was no hot water for months so she showered at my place, the front door was all metal and would electrocute you due to a wiring fault,” it continued.
“The back door didn’t lock and the landlord refused to fix it, so they had to keep the gate locked and climb in over their wheely bins.”
The cherry on top was their recent discovery the property was being advertised for millions of dollars.
“Now someone is selling it for two million dollars. Make it make sense,” they wrote.
Those responding to the post pointed out a depressing truth – the land value of the block was likely worth $2 million on its own.
“Someone will probably buy and demolish it,” one person replied.

“This would be seen as a value add property for investors. The land, the location etc,” another added.
Agents responsible for selling the “prominent corner location” block said the land size was about 157 square metres.
While the bottom level was currently a commercial space with four rooms, two bathrooms and a “modern kitchen”, the upstairs residential area had three bedrooms, a bathroom and kitchen.
