Bachelor in Paradise: Ciarran Stott slammed after Bachelorette lie aired

Fans are not happy with former favourite Ciarran Stott after his dodgy act towards Angie Kent on The Bachelorette was revealed on Tuesday night.

Former Bachelorette fan favourite Ciarran Stott is experiencing a spectacular fall from grace after his ex arrived in Paradise to drop some long-awaited truth bombs.

Renee Barrett, from Matt Agnew’s season of The Bachelor, arrived in Fiji during Monday night’s episode to reveal that Ciarran was still in touch with her while vying for Angie Kent’s heart.

She said she even picked him up from the airport after he called her to say he was done with Angie and wanted to give their relationship another crack.

The shocking revelation came after a messy, MAFS-inspired dinner party which came complete with a temper tantrum, Ciarran and Renee storming off down the beach in tears, and Ciarran threatening to leave while fellow contestants watched on.

“None of these people know that you left Angie for me,” Renee said as the two attempted to sort their issues out.

“While you were in the mansion, you were calling me, making sure I was OK. ‘How are the dogs?’ You know, ‘I’m worried about you’. What the (BLEEP) are you playing at?,” she said.

“Yeah, sweet, I lied about that. Great, I (BLEEP) own that, too. There you go,” Ciarran responded.

During Angie’s season, Ciarran memorably left the mansion ahead of the rose ceremony, telling Angie his grandmother had unexpectedly died.

The two had established a clear connection, sharing a teary farewell and long kiss before Ciarran’s car rolled away.

Earlier in the new season of Bachelor in Paradise, Ciarran had also admitted he cheated on his ex Renee while away at a wedding. It’s not clear whether this was before or after leaving Angie’s season to reunite with her.

Before the nightmarish dinner party kicked off, Ciarran and Jess Brody, also from Matt Agnew’s season, had formed a close bond during a romantic day on the beach.

Ciarran had quickly secured himself as a viewer favourite during his first time on the franchise, with fans drawn to his cheeky British charm and loveable larrikin ways.

On Tuesday, it became clear he’s a favourite no more, with viewers lashing out at the star on social media following his behaviour in Paradise.

Others wondered whether he had lied to Angie about his reason for leaving.

Some also threw Timm into the mix — expressing their disappointment in the Bachelorette runner-up for his pot-stirring ways at dinner.

The tables first began to turn on Ciarran after last Thursday’s episode.

Flocking to Twitter in light of Ciarran’s bedhopping and partner-swapping, fans pointed out a blinding “double standard” in the harsh treatment of the female contestants compared with the men.

It’s something Abbie Chatfield – who was considered the “villain” of Matt Agnew’s season for what fellow contestants labelled an aggressive approach in pursuing Matt – has pointed out several times before.

Fans will have to wait until tomorrow night to see the fallout from Renee’s revelation.

Bachelor in Paradise continues from 7.30pm Wednesday night on Channel 10.
