After a wild week on The Block that saw the ‘biggest cheating scandal in TV history’ come to a head in Wednesday night’s heated body corporate, Shelley Craft has surprisingly waded into the drama.

And the veteran Block host wasn’t having any of Tanya and Vito’s excuses — scolding Vito as he lay in to the other teams for their behaviour during the meeting.

“I heard it was a pretty horrid state of events yesterday,” Shelley had posed to the pair on hearing about the slanging match between Josh and Mitch.

“Absolutely disgusting. Absolutely horrific,” Vito said, shaking his head.

“But we’re here to build our home, we’re here to present our theatre room,” he said as a perplexed Scotty pressed him to elaborate on his “disgusting” comment.

“There was a bit of language that was used that was really inappropriate … we just stayed quiet,” Tanya chimed in as her husband continued to shake his head beside her.

“Horrifying,” he muttered.

Vito seemed to conveniently forget his team’s involvement in the drama.

Defending the other teams, Shelley pointed out that the source of their fury was the leaked production schedule photo circulated by Tanya and Vito, as Scotty nodded his head in agreeance beside her.

“Oh the so-called photo, the so-called image. Let’s just all move forward why don’t we?,” Vito shot back, rolling his eyes.

“You can understand that Ronnie and Georgia and Mitch and Mark were extremely upset that you guys had the production schedule for three weeks,” Scotty put to him.

“Or whatever,” Vito sighed, prompting Shelley to kick off.

“I’m upset for the Faves, because they both came back here to have another shot at it, have a clean slate and have a great experience. I’m upset for all of you because this is not what The Block is about, this ill feeling …,” she said as Vito interrupted her.

“Awesome, well Shelley maybe you should have been there last night,” he said widening his eyes and clapping in mock enthusiasm.

“I walked out and I thought it was just horrific,” he repeated.

“But you were the cause of it Vito, so you’ve got to take responsibility for that mate,” snapped Shelley as Vito began explaining that they had already apologised and just wanted to talk about their room.

“You don’t call the shots mate,” Scotty chimed in as the tension thickened further.

“In 17 series of the block I have never seen anything like this,” Shelley mused, with Tanya quick to interject with another dig at the other teams, saying she was “shocked” to be “verbally assaulted” by them, again referencing the body corporate.

Laying down the law, a fed-up Shelley launched into a terse lecture for the argumentative couple.

“But other people joined the show thinking that it was going to be a fair game too … so everybody’s got their part to play in this.

“They’re guilty of calling names, (and) you’re being charged with guilty of cheating at this point, which is what it is. If you’ve got a schedule about the rooms that are coming up, you had an advantage over the other contestants. That’s really the bottom line.

“It’s certainly turned our world upside down.

“Scotty’s been hauling arse trying to change things around and get things ready because the six months of planning that went into this show is now undone,” she concluded.

Tanya eventually apologised directly to Scotty for the show’s upheaval, with the two hosts not bothering to ask about their basement plans before moving on to the next team.

“They didn’t even talk about the room,” Vito grumbled.

“I wanna speak to the producers, I wanna know how we’re going to be portrayed on this show because it’s absolute BS. I don’t want to be here,” he fumed.

After disappearing from the site amid threats to leave the show for good, Vito faced producers to beg for sympathy.

Vito told producers he was at breaking point over the ongoing saga.

“Where’s the point that Vito breaks?,” he asked emotionally while speaking in the third person.

“Do they want to see Vito rage in anger? Do they want to see me fall on my knees?”

At the room reveal, Scotty finally dished out penalties for the saga – docking two points from both Tanya and Vito and Josh and Luke’s final scores for the week.

But he punishment was slammed by returning contestant Ronnie, who declared it “bullsh*t” and said the four should have had all their points stripped.
