Farmer Will attends FWAW reunion with Jaimee, Hayley’s pregnancy mentioned at the end

Farmer Wants A Wife finally addressed the elephant in the room during last night’s reunion — but it made for a bizarre viewing experience.

Farmer Wants A Wife finally addresses bombshell pregnancy scandal at the reunion

Viewers hoping to see the Farmer Wants A Wife pregnancy scandal play out on Wednesday's reunion special were left waiting until the final moments of the episode for a statement from host Natalie Gruzlewski.

The reunion, which was filmed in January, a month after the farmers’ ‘final decisions’, touched briefly on Hayley Love’s pregnancy news while Farmer Will, the alleged father of the unborn child, appeared loved-up with his ‘pick’ Jaimee during the episode.

“One last thing before we say goodbye to another successful season of Farmer Wants A Wife,” Natalie began after doe-eyed footage of Will and Jaimee dancing to Taylor Swift at the reunion cocktail party faded out.

“I have got some exciting news.

“Since we recorded the reunion, I’ve found out one of Farmer Matt’s ladies Hayley is pregnant. We wish her and her soon-to-be bundle of joy all the very best.”

Hayley had alleged she secretly started a relationship with Farmer Will once filming of the finale finished, but before the reunion was taped.

She claimed the pair had a short, tumultuous romance, which ended in April after she revealed she had fallen pregnant with Will’s child.

Cattle and sheep farmer Will Dwyer, however, fronted up at the reunion with his chosen contestant Jaimee — telling host Nat that meeting Jaimee had “changed his life”, and musing about their potential future together.

It made for an odd viewing experience for fans of the show, given everything that’s unfolded publicly over the past few weeks:

Will and Jaimee’s loved-up display

Speaking of his decision between finalists Jaimee, 32, and Kristina, 29, Will said he “stuck with his gut” to pursue Jaimee.

“I liked Jaimee from the get go, she’s just such an incredible person. I could not be happier. Her personality’s wonderful, we just get along really well,” he said before Jaimee joined him on the couch.

As the pair sat together, Natalie asked Jaimee what first attracted her to Will.

“His big bright blue eyes and his infectious personality,” she said.

When pressed by the host for more details about her first impressions of Will, Jaimee added with an awkward laugh: “I just wanted to get to know him, I was intrigued. It was a lot of fun, we had good banter, lots of laughter.”

On their unfolding romance during the time between the finale and the reunion — the same time Hayley says her relationship with Will came to be — Will revealed he’d been trying to catch up with Jaimee “once a week, roughly.”

“With Jaimee being in the city, and my life on the farm, we have to try and make every moment count,” he said.

Speaking to producers in footage from his farm, Jaimee gushed about the blossoming romance: “I feel like things with Will are going good, I definitely have more feelings for him since the final decision.

“It feels like I’m at home here, I could live here,” she said of his property in Longwood, Victoria, later telling Nat, “I definitely could adapt to farm life, but we’ll see what the future holds.”

During Wednesday’s reunion filmed in January, Jaimee seemed to be considering moving to Will’s farm.

Back on the couch, Will revealed just how serious things had been getting between the two.

“Jaimee’s met my family and some of my friends, she’s great with my nephews and nieces and they all got along really well, it was really nice,” he said, telling producers: “Meeting Jaimee has definitely changed my life, she’s just a remarkable human being and who knows what the future holds.”

Hayley’s pregnancy announcement

In her original statement to news.com.au last month amid swirling rumours about a pregnancy on the show, Hayley, 25, said she and Will struck up a relationship shortly after the finale was filmed in December. It is understood the pair ended their romance in April after Hayley told Will she was pregnant.

Explaining why she had decided to come forward and share her story, she said: “I am speaking my truth before it gets misconstrued by the public and tabloids who don’t know the full story,” she said. “This is my story to tell.”

She also revealed that she was prepared to raise the baby by herself: “I’ve tried to keep things amicable with (Will), to be clear on what his involvement with our child will be,” she said.

“At the end of the day I have decided to keep the baby because I have enough love for this child with or without a biological father. I will be enough for him or her.”

In a follow-up statement released to social media after news.com.au broke the story, Hayley revealed she had been “absolutely terrified” to come forward.

“I was absolutely terrified to come out with a statement as I am struggling with my mental health,” she wrote, thanking her close friends and family for their support.

“While the rumours were spreading I became a complete wreck. I removed myself from social media to recover from all the awful comments I was reading about myself and even other girls/farmers.”

Farmer Will’s statement

Will, 39, responded a few days later with his own Instagram post, in which he said he was “sad” the issue had played out in public – while questioning whether the child “is in fact” his.

Sharing a vintage photo of his own father, he wrote: “My family are my world, and my parents were the perfect role models. When the time comes, I will be the best Dad I can be. If this is in fact my child, I’ll be there whenever the child needs me. Even if as parents we can’t be a couple, our family will be filled with love for our child.

“But one thing I learnt from my Father is that discretion is the better part of valour. I’m sad that this has played out in public. I want only the best for Hayley. I’ll say what needs to be said in private and let my deeds do the talking.”

Prior to this, Will’s one public post had been an Instagram story shared the night Hayley went public with her statement – a graphic reading, “A WOLF DOES NOT CONCERN HIMSELF WITH THE OPINIONS OF SHEEP”.

Other contestants weigh in

Will’s runner-up Kristina has thrown her support behind the cattle and sheep farmer in recent days.

“For everyone asking, I have nothing negative to say about this man. Sending love your way (love heart emoji),” she wrote on her Instagram Stories along with his public statement last week, as per gossip podcast So Dramatic!

Before the news of Hayley’s pregnancy and her secret romance with Will broke, Kristina similarly told The Advertiser she and Will were still “great friends” and that he was a “beautiful human”.

Another contestant, Nickia, who is close friends with Hayley, 25, slammed the sheep and cattle farmer for his Instagram post on Monday in which he questioned whether the child “is in fact” his.

As reported by Kidspot, Nickia hit back on her Instagram story saying the 39-year-old should have stepped up when Hayley first revealed she was pregnant.

Nickia also accused him of “vile” private correspondence with the pregnant star.

Referencing the choice of words in his statement, Nickia responded, “When the time comes? The time came six months ago buddy when Hayley fell pregnant.”

She added, “Majority of what Will has said ‘in private’ has been vile. And I know because I’ve read it.”

So who is still together?

Hayley’s original match on the show, Farmer Matt, chose to stay with Tara in the finale last month.

However, the two are no longer together, having broken up a week before the finale was filmed.

The pair explained that Matt had felt “overwhelmed” after the experience and a number of family tragedies, so they have decided to stay friends for now. Matt had a devastating lead-up to filming the show after losing his dad. Tonight, he revealed his grandfather also died after he finished up on FWAW.

Meanwhile, Farmer Rob failed to find love on the show. At the time of the reunion he was still single, but hopeful the right partner was out there.

Farmer Sam didn’t find his match on the show either, but is now dating a woman named Rhiannon.

The only successful couple from this season is Farmer Andrew and Jess, who announced their plans to move in together.
