Singer Rita Ora has been spotted enjoying some sun in Sydney as she settles in Australia with boyfriend, director Taika Waititi.

Ora and her sister Elena was spotted along with Waititi and his two children at a secluded beach in the Harbour City.

The loved-up couple were previously spotted at the red carpet premiere of Nicole Kidman’s new film Being The Ricardos in Sydney last week.

The Voice Australia coach Ora, 31, has been dating New Zealand-born Thor director Waititi, 46, for much of 2021, with the couple gradually becoming more open about their relationship after a low-key start.

They went Instagram-official in July when he attended her Fourth of July party in LA.

The pair’s relationship first started here in Australia back in March, with Rita later confessing the location helped their budding romance: “I think it was such a great place, Australia, the sun was shining and it was just natural. And I’m just in a very happy place.”

Back in May, the pair caused something of a minor celeb scandal when they were photographed kissing and cuddling each other – and Thor actress Tessa Thompson.

A photographer spotted the three stars getting cozy on a balcony in Sydney on Sunday morning.

The Daily Mail reported that the photos were taken at Waititi’s house after an all-night party.

Some of the images showed Rita Ora kissing boyfriend Waititi, while in other photos she has her face close to Thompson, leaning in for a kiss.

Waititi later brushed off the eyebrow-raising photos while talking to The Sydney Morning Herald.

“I think in the world of the internet, everything goes away pretty quick,” he said.

“And also, is it that big a deal?‘ No, not really. I was doing nothing wrong. It’s fine.”

Waititi has two daughters with fellow director and New Zealander Chelsea Winstanley, while Ora has previously dated Calvin Harris.

Meanwhile, Ora recently opened up about the much-publicised lockdown breach she caused when she held her 30th birthday party in London last year.

She held “a small gathering with some friends” at Casa Cruz restaurant in Notting Hill last November despite all pubs and restaurants in England being required to be closed at the time.

She was fined for the breach, and this month said she “wishes she had made a different choice” during a tearful interview with The Independent.

“I am incredibly embarrassed,” Ora told the publication as she began to cry.

“I still feel embarrassed. And the regret … It’s really hard for me to talk about it.”

“I just wish I had made a different choice,” she added.

“It makes me sad because it’s something I wish had never happened.

“People were making huge sacrifices at the time, and I let them down. And that hurts. It really hurts.”

The singer was branded “selfish” at the time and fined £10,000 ($A18,500) by British police.

Following the backlash, Ora apologised in a statement and said the decision was “spur of the moment” and one she “made with the misguided view that we were coming out of lockdown and this would be OK”.

“I’m deeply sorry for breaking the rules and in turn understand that this puts people at risk,” she told Instagram followers at the time.

“This was a serious and inexcusable error of judgment. Given the restrictions, I realise how irresponsible these actions were and I take full responsibility.”
