Taika Waititi and Rita Ora give a glimpse into their rumoured relationship

After remaining tight-lipped about his relationship, Oscar winner Taika Waititi has posted a rare public display of affection with Rita Ora.

After months of rumours and speculation, things have been made Instagram official for Taika Waititi and Rita Ora.

The 30-year-old British singer hosted a Fourth of July barbecue in LA alongside a stream of stars, including Taika Waititi.

While the couple have been previously spotted together Down Under on outings and in public, including attending the premiere of RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under at the Sydney Opera House, this is the first time they’ve been photographed in an official capacity.

It seems the Thor director travelled to join his lady just in time for the party, having been photographed in Woolloomooloo having lunch with Russell Crowe just last week.

Waititi also shared images to his social media of the pair at the party.

The duo looked happy as they sported vibrant colours. Ora sported a pink and gold dress, while the Thor: Love and Thunder director rocked a red, white and blue printed T-shirt with eagles on it, red sunglasses and black pants.

Other stars at the Prospero Tequila BBQ, included Lily James, The Queen’s Gambit’s Ana Taylor Joy and Joshua Jackson.

Back in May, the Oscar-winning writer director was spotted cuddling up and kissing both girlfriend Rita Ora and Thor actress Tessa Thompson.

A photographer spotted the three stars getting cozy on a balcony in Sydney on Sunday morning.

The Daily Mail has reported that the photos were taken at Waititi’s house after an all-night party.

Some of the images showed Rita Ora kissing boyfriend Waititi, while in other photos she has her face close to Thompson, leaning in for a kiss.

When asked about the photos, Waititi quipped, “I think in the world of the internet, everything goes away pretty quick,” the Jojo Rabbit creator told The Sydney Morning Herald. “And also, is it that big a deal?‘ No, not really. I was doing nothing wrong. It’s fine.”

Ora met Waititi earlier this year while filming The Voice in Sydney as one of the new coaches on the show.

Waititi has two daughters with fellow director and New Zealander Chelsea Winstanley, while Ora has previously dated Calvin Harris.
