The world has come a long way in recent years when it comes to sexual pleasure and in particular sex toys. Even so, it’s no surprise that 60 per cent of women masturbate in the shower or bathtub and 41 per cent of vulva owners remember using water for their first experiences with genital pleasure, according to a recent Womanizer survey.
With this in mind, the leading sexual wellness brand has released the world’s first showerhead designed specifically for self-pleasure.

According to Rafe, “by creating a pleasure product that doubles as a household appliance, the Womanizer Wave is normalising sexual wellness as a holistic experience that does not need to be secretive or confined to the bedroom.”
Designed in collaboration with German bathware manufacturer hansgrohe, the Womanizer Wave has three separate water jets (the Pleasure Jet, Pleasure Whirl and Powder Rain) with controllable intensity for each, providing varied opportunities for stimulation depending on your specific pleasure preferences. The Pleasure Jet provides constant and rhythmic stimulation, the Pleasure Whirl provides variation to the type of and intensity of stimulation, and the Powder Rain offers a gentle calming shower experience (more along the lines of a typical showerhead).
It is designed for external vulva and clitoral stimulation and is not recommended for inserting vaginally, according to Rafe.
Although development took over three years, it was definitely time well spent. A survey conducted by Womanizer toy testers reveals that Wave’s stimulation is 94 per cent more pleasant, 88 per cent more arousing and 86 per cent more suitable for masturbation than that of a normal shower head.
