The collection, which also includes sweatpants, jackets, and knitwear has gone viral online, with many pieces actually selling out, and it’s easy to understand why.
I got my hands on this C Sweat Oversized Pullover Hoodie in black, and have been wearing it to and from the gym, plus it’s super comfy for lounging around the house.
The cotton and polyester fabric blend has a smooth underside which is great to wear with a tank top or T-shirt, and the weight of the fabric is perfect, not too light or heavy, it’s perfect in terms of what I’d be looking for. It’s quite a structured look but also understated, and looks great with shorts, jeans or the matching C Sweat Wide Pants.
I take at least one hoodie away with me when I travel abroad, so this C Sweat Oversized Pullover Hoodie is definitely going in my suitcase.
One point to highlight is the price, at just $59.90 the hoodie is excellent value, especially when you consider hoodies from other sports brands can be upwards of $100.
With the weather cooling down, this might just be my favourite item this winter.
A black hoodie is pretty much a wardrobe staple for men, so make sure you don’t miss the chance to grab one for yourself.
New Balance Made in USA Core Hoodie, $230 at New Balance

You’ll be the smartest looking guy at the gym with this New Balance Made in USA Core Hoodie, which has been crafted with premium materials but carries a timeless, universal design, with a double-lined hood, ribbing and drawcord, plus a Kangaroo pocket at the front.
The embroidered New Balance patch logo on the front breast is not too much, and I love the colour options for this product, especially the bright green New Spruce Heather, which will really shine on those upcoming winter mornings.
This hoodie has also been a winner with shoppers, who are loving its fit, style and overall quality.
“The fabric is incredibly soft and comfortable, making it perfect for all-day wear. I’ll definitely be getting more in different colours,” said one reviewer, while another added: “Love the fit and quality. Made in USA does come with a hefty price but it might be worth it.”
Nike Repel Miler Jacket, $100 at THE ICONIC
Why We Love It: Lightweight and great for wet weather
What To Consider: Not intended for use as PPE (personal protective equipment)
Materials: Polyester
Size: S to 2XL
Colour: Black
Care: Cold machine wash, warm tumble dry
What You Need To Know
If you’re exercising outdoors during the cooler months, the Nike Miler Jacket is a workout wardrobe essential. Its water-repellent fabric will handle light rain and drizzle, keeping you dry, while its hood will give you extra protection should you need it to.
Its reflective details keep you visible while out on lowlight runs, plus this one can be packed into the side pocket for convenient storage.
Crafted with lightweight and recycled polyester fibres, this jacket features the iconic Nike tick on the breast pocket, and shoppers say it’s designed to fit “perfectly”.
“Great quality and true to size. Nice and thin for running and has a hood,” said one shopper.
Another added: “Light and comfortable, and keeps the wind out. Perfect for chilly mornings or afternoons.”
BEST MEN’S WORKOUT CLOTHES: TRACKSUIT PANTS
Like hoodies, comfort should be an important factor when choosing tracksuit pants, alongside the level of warmth, colour options and style. If you’re wearing them during cardio workouts like running or jogging, you want to also ensure they give flexibility of movement, so go for breathable material like cotton blends.
C Sweat Wide Pants, $59.90 at Uniqlo

Tried and Tested by Troy Nankervis, news.com.au checkout Shopping Writer
Like the C Sweat Oversized Pullover Hoodie, I was very excited to try the C Sweat Wide Pants, which are part Uniqlo’s special ‘C’ collab with Clare Waight Keller.
The hoodie and sweatpants look great together, but are separately stylish in their own right.
These trackies are a step up from your normal joggers, and it’s because of all the small details, like the cut of the pant legs, the neat elastic band around the waist, plus the drawstring, which all have a premium, soft feel.
The front and back pockets are quite roomy and structured, normally I wouldn’t trust tracksuit pants for keeping my keys and phone safe but these have my confidence.
Personally, I also wouldn’t normally pick straight cuffs on tracksuit pants, but they do look quite smart, especially when I’m wearing them alongside my running shoes.
The weight of the fabric is a little too heavy for running or heavier cardio sessions at the gym, but perfect for a weights session, some light exercise such as a yoga class or walking.
I like taking tracksuit pants on long haul flights and these are definitely coming on my next trip abroad. At $59.90, the price point is outstanding for the quality you get, and it’s not surprising that these have been selling out in Uniqlo stores around the country.
Avoid disappointment and make sure you get yourself a pair while you can!
Nike Tech Fleece Joggers, $130 at THE ICONIC

Sitting above the ankle, they’re the perfect companion to show off your runner, and given their lightweight design, also a good choice for cardio-heavy workouts too.
With a great range of colours on offer, shoppers say they’re perfect across the board when it comes to comfort, fit, and quality craftsmanship.
“Bought these for my son, I liked how they looked, seem comfortable so I ended up buying a pair for myself. I highly recommend them” wrote one reviewer.
Another said: “These are exactly what I think Tech Fleece Joggers should look and feel like. They provide all day comfort yet keep me looking stylish.
“Overall they run true to size, but I do love how the draw strings helped adjust the fit at the waist to make them perfect.”
BEST MEN’S WORKOUT CLOTHES: TANK TOPS AND T-SHIRTS

Tank tops allow for maximum freedom of movement, ideal for activities like weightlifting, while T-shirts offer versatile style options and often feature moisture-wicking materials to manage sweat.
Men’s UA Run 96 Sleeveless T-shirt, $50 from Under Armour
Why We Love It: A fun retro style adds personality to your workout
What To Consider: This cut sits high on the waist
Materials: Cotton and Polyester
Size: S to 3XL
Colour: Downpour Grey and Fire
Care: Normal wash with warm or cold water
Tried and Tested by Troy Nankervis, news.com.au checkout Shopping Writer
This sleeveless tee from the Run 96 collection is inspired by a mid 90s look (1996 in fact, the year that Under Armour was formed), and is officially one of my new favourite gym tank tops.
Blending the best of performance tech with a retro design, it has a relaxed fit which sits nicely across my shoulders, and is nice to wear during my workouts. It’s also made with super-soft cotton, and looks great when paired with the UA Run 96 Men’s Shorts as a set.
One thing to mention is the actual length of the tee.
It’s a shorter cut which sits above my hips, and while that’s not a deal-breaker by any means, just that normally I’d be going for gym shirts and tank tops which sit a little lower down my waist.
With great design and at an excellent price, this is a great fashionable option that deserves its own place in your wardrobe.
Mile Maker Run Crew Lightweight Short-Sleeve Shirt, $79 from Lululemon
Why We Love It: Super lightweight
What To Consider: You can only cold wash this with similar colours
Material: Polyester
Size: S to 2XL
Colour: Black, Light Ivory
Care: Cold water wash, avoid ironing and tumble drying
Tried and Tested by Troy Nankervis, news.com.au checkout Shopping Writer
Honestly, I am blown away with Lululemon’s Mile Maker Run Crew Lightweight Short-Sleeve Shirt. I usually don’t like wearing shirts during my workouts but this could be a turning point in my fitness journey, and it all comes down to the incredible fit.
I’m a little self-conscious of super tight gym shirts, but this one sits perfectly on my shoulders with plenty of room around my stomach and hips.
During my workouts, it’s been a reliable performer and doesn’t ride up while I am lifting weights or running on the treadmill.
The other surprising feature is the fact that it’s super lightweight, and almost feels like you’re not wearing it. The fabric is also breathable and quick drying.
While I don’t normally go for polyester material in gym products, I reckon this time I am very happy to make an exception. Do yourself a favour and select a couple.

I like that it’s made completely from recycled materials.
The actual colour too is a major selling point, the white and violent blend really shines, and I just might be the best dressed guy in the gym, from both a style and comfort point of view – and other shoppers agree with me on that.
“They feel amazing, and don’t weigh you down when wet. I love the material and slim cut of the shirt. I’m a big fan of the matching shorts as well,” said one shopper.
Another added: “The quality of this T-shirt is very good. Extremely comfortable for gym or jogging. I love the logo too, it makes this T-shirt unique!”

UA Run 96 Men’s Shorts, $75 from Under Armour
Why We Love It: A great retro design
What To Consider: Sizing runs a little small
Materials: Nylon
Size: S to 2XL
Colour: Downpour Gray, White Quartz
Care: Cold water wash
Tried and Tested by Troy Nankervis, news.com.au checkout Shopping Writer
Designed with special nylon fabric, these UA Run 96 Men’s Shorts are breathable and handle cardio workouts quite well. Made for running, I am loving these UA Run 96 Men’s Shorts, which look great during my workouts, especially in tandem with the UA Run 96 Sleeveless T-shirt.
If you’re training with them while outdoors, Under Armour’s UA storm technology fabric repels water, making them an excellent option for running during the cooler months, especially if it’s raining.
The ripstop woven fabric is quite lightweight and extremely durable, exactly what you’d be looking for in workout shorts. The elastic is also very well made, and the hand pockets are perfect if you want to train light but still keep your phone and keys in a safe place (there’s zip hand pockets, and an internal phone pocket on the ride side of the shorts).
I should mention that these are quite a snug fit, so if you want a more relaxed look, you might be better going a size up to what you’re usually used to.
Adidas Own The Run Shorts, $60 at THE ICONIC
Why We Love It: Loud, energetic colour
What To Consider: These sit quite high up the thigh
Materials: Polyester
Size: S to 2XL
Colour: Violet Tone

The fast-dry fibres give a fresh-skin feel, and these shorts are made with fully recycled materials, all big ticks if you’re after a great pair of workout shorts.
They also simply look good, the use of the iconic Adidas stripes, alongside the white and violent colour blend is super stylish. They look great out on the road or for those gym selfies.
“I always get the Own The Run shorts, but these are the softest feeling ones yet, I cycle everywhere so the zip pocket in the rear isn’t ideal for keeping my debit card in but the softness makes up for it,” wrote one shopper.
Another added: “Comfortable running shorts with mesh inside. Quick-drying material. The small pocket is useful for keys. They look even better in real life.”
Nike 7” Stride Shorts, $70 at THE ICONIC

They’re smooth to the touch, which come with extra breathability at the upper back.
One of our favourite features is the small pocket at the back, which is perfect for keys – however it’s worth noting that some shoppers say this pocket is just a little too small for your phone.
“I have a lot of pairs and they work great for running, gym workouts and everyday wear,” said one shopper.
Another added: “These shorts are just the right length for a hard gym workout or a good run. Quality is good and holds up well being washed and worn often.”

I’ve been wearing these newly-released Cloud Mesh Boxer Briefs over the last few weeks, and they’re seriously great.
Using a special fabric blend including bamboo viscose, these are breathable and lightweight, super soft to wear, and they also repel moisture thanks to their moisture-wicking design.
Reliable to wear while working out, I like their anti-chafe design, meaning they don’t ride up my leg while doing cardio such as running or rowing.
The elastic band is high quality and sits nicely on my waist too, and they blend well with my other workout clothes.
Step One does say some guys might need to buy the next size up, but I am pretty happy with the sizing of this one.
Overall, a great option for workout underwear that I don’t have to think about, and instead focus more on my workouts. Big ticks from me.

WHAT TO CONSIDER WHEN BUYING MEN’S WORKOUT CLOTHES
Comfort and Fit: When choosing workout gear, prioritise comfort with materials that are soft, breathable, and moisture-wicking, like cotton blends or technical fabrics. These materials keep you dry and comfortable by drawing sweat away from your skin. Ensure that your gear fits well, allowing for a full range of motion. A snug fit can offer support and reduce friction, while a relaxed or looser fit gives you more freedom of movement. Trying on different styles can help work out what feels best for your body type and the activities you’ll be doing.
Durability and Quality: Pick quality materials that can withstand the wear and tear of frequent use and washing, especially if you’re hitting the gym several times a week. Look for reinforced stitching and durable fabrics that won’t easily tear or lose shape. Making this kind of investment can actually save you money in the long run, as your workout clothes will last longer and perform better. Also check for details like strong seams and quality zippers, which indicate good craftsmanship.
Functionality: Consider the specific features you need based on your workout routine. For example, pockets can be useful for storing small items like your keys or phone, while reflective elements are important for visibility during outdoor workouts in low light. Look for additional features like ventilation panels for increased airflow, adjustable waistbands for a customised fit, and compression elements for added support during high-impact activities.
Weather: In warmer climates, make sure that you choose lightweight, breathable fabrics that give great airflow and help regulate body temperature. Clothing with moisture-wicking properties will keep you dry, and for colder conditions, choose insulated or thermal gear that gives warmth without adding excess bulk. Water-resistant or windproof materials can also be great for outdoor workouts, especially during the winter months.
Style: While functionality is key, personal style is also important. You want to look your best when you’re working up a swear. Go for colours, patterns, and designs that make you feel confident and motivated while wearing them, as this can enhance your workout experience and boost your confidence.
HOW WE CHOOSE PRODUCTS
Looking to upgrade your workout wardrobe? The team at news.com.au checkout has done their homework by sifting through customer reviews and testing products to create a list of must-have workout items that could be a gamechanger in your routine.
We’ve also got some great insights from Todd Liubinskas, the CEO of YOKHA, the new fitness racing concept where athleticism meets obstacle racing. Todd’s experience as a strength and conditioning coach, ex-athlete, and former fitness director of Australian Men’s Health makes him a reliable source for advice on workout gear and how to feel your best while keeping your style on point.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What are some fitness trends we’re seeing now? Why are community-based fitness experiences like Hyrox, and run clubs so popular?
Ex-athlete Todd Liubinskas says that having an event to train for and compete in is a great focus point for staying motivated, especially as the weather changes.
“Fitness trends at the moment making their way into mainstream fitness are fitness racing events like YOHKA and Hyrox, Run Club.
“Eight years ago I co-founded the 440 [Run Club] with a good mate of mine Trent Knox, along with Global Brand run activations, Sunday morning walks into Coffee Shop DJ Parties, and underground foot races in car parks.
“One big trend that seems to be overlooked is meditation. There are more and more people leaning into mindfulness as part of their daily routines.”
How often should we be working out?
Liubinskas says that people should be the “masters of their own body” when it comes to how much they work out, and that any specific advice around fitness, sleep and nutrition should come from a health professional.
“If you are looking to get started in health and fitness, here is a good structure to get your started. For beginners, aim for three workouts per week, around 20-30 minutes per session, and balance that with a good 8-plus hours a night of sleep, around two to three litres of water per day, and spend five minutes a day breathing on your own,” he said.
“For fitness enthusiasts, aim for four to five workouts per week, of between 40 to 45 minutes per session. Monitor your goals for performance or an event you have entered, get at 8-plus hours of sleep, three to four litres of water per day, nutrition that matches your performance, and make sure this is followed by 5 to 10 minutes of mindfulness per day.”
If you were building a wardrobe of workout gear, what would you include?
“My wardrobe consists of outfits for 15 workouts a week, and there is a lot of washing that takes place as well!” Liubinskas said.
Among his key items, Liubinskas has 15 pairs of underwear (Step One various colours and long brief style), 12 pairs of shorts, 6’’ 7’’ cut, ranging between black, blue, and grey (including brands like Nike), six pairs of Nike running tights, 20 pairs of crew socks, mixed colours, white or black from Nike, 10 T-shirts, and six tank tops.
