Locking in time to interview Beau Ryan is no mean feat. From hosting the Triple M Breakfast Show, The Amazing Race on Channel 10, Top Gear on Channel 10 and Paramount Plus and fathering two young kids – this is one busy man.
While he’s been hosting TV for years now, Beau has only just stepped into his new radio gig, an opportunity that he says still “feels like a bit of a dream”. Reflecting on what he’s dubbed the “dream gig”, Beau explains that he’s “waiting for someone to shake me and say ‘how hectic was that? Was that real?’”.
As for the one guest that’s made him starstruck, without hesitation Beau responds “Nicole Kidman. I was like ‘boom’, just in awe of her. I can’t explain her aura. Just majestic. Glowing. Like time stood still.”
We sat down with the Cronulla-based ex-footy player at the recent Famous Nutrition event (a supplement brand that he is now the ambassador for … in case he didn’t have enough on his plate) to find out what products he’s been loving lately.

“When I first started wearing Adidas boots in the NRL, not a lot of guys were wearing them. They were making mainly the predator and the EPL boots and Beckham’s boots and rugby boots. But not a lot of league guys were wearing them. Now it’s a different story, everyone wants to wear ‘em. I’m an Adidas guy.”

WHAT’S BEAU RYAN’S GO-TO SNEAKER?
“I usually just get the white on white ones. I trash ‘em, but they’re comfortable. It comes back to when I used to play, I used to see a foot specialist and I used to wear thongs and they were really bad for my knees and back. So I got into this little routine of wearing joggers and Ultra Boosts daily and it’s been good for my body. It’s how you wear it … I might look like Jerry Seinfeld but I don’t really care.”

“I take actual pillows from home. You know how when you’re flying and they give you these little ones? Neck ones are okay but I’m at the point now where I just bring a full pillow, or even my daughter’s big banana pillow. I go next level. You’ve got to be comfortable when you’re flying, especially when you’re doing what I do. You’ve got to be ready when you land. So we might be (on) two connecting flights, 14 hours, then 12 hours, then 4 hours. Usually we’ll be travelling for a day, literally 24 hours. And when I land, I’ve got to be ready. So I’ve got to be comfortable in the air.”

“Lately it’s been the famous supplements because I’m leaving at 3:45am and I’m getting home at 5pm. So I find I genuinely need ‘em. I need to really focus on what I’m eating, what I’m drinking, what I’m putting into my body. Because I can literally be behind a microphone for 12 hours in a day.”
