You’d think starring in a huge TV series in the US (Dynasty), working alongside Nicole Kidman in a feature film (in Strangerland) or being a brand ambassador for luxury brands such as Dior and Pandora would be enough for a 20-something Aussie girl from Sydney… but not for Maddison Brown.

The Aussie export has now taken the beauty world by storm with her new eco-friendly, cruelty free skincare brand Outside Beauty and Skincare.

We sat down with the actor to find out exactly what she puts on her face, the essential items she never leaves home without and the items she’s been able to steal from her Hollywood sets.

“I did buy Kirby’s (her character from Dynasty) Chanel boots and my makeup artist gave me a bunch of half used lipsticks that she couldn’t take onto her next show.”

Here’s everything Maddison Brown’s been loving lately including one item she calls a “universal actor thing” and the very “cheap” Vaseline she uses to “slug (her) face”.

WHAT’S IN MADDISON BROWN’S HANDBAG?

“This is going to be very chaotic. So obviously I always have water – Frank Green – of course. This is more valid than having an Australian passport.”

“And I always have a yellow highlighter in my bag because – fun thing about actors – we only highlight our lines with yellow highlighters. I don’t know what it is, but this is like a universal actor thing. So I always have one of those on me … and that’s everything in my bag.”

WHAT PRODUCTS ARE IN MADDISON BROWN’S SKINCARE ROUTINE?

WHAT IS MADDISON BROWN’S BEST ‘UNSEXY’ BEAUTY HACK?

“I really hope I don’t get trolled for this, but it’s a real thing and I’m telling everyone about it … vaseline. I slug my face with vaseline sometimes and I literally wake up in the morning looking like a baby’s butt and it’s so cheap. So get a tub of vaseline, it’s the best thing for barrier repair, I’m all about barrier repair.”

WHAT HAIR PRODUCTS DOES MADDISON BROWN USE?

“I just got the GHD hot brush that takes your hair from wet to styled and it is all life-changing because I have coarse hair texture. So when I would use just a blow dryer, it would be too frizzy. And so the hot bristles on it, as well as the blow dryer, is the perfect combination.”
