A vicious near-fatal stabbing outside a notorious Melbourne nightclub has landed six men in police custody.
An alcohol-fuelled brawl broke out in the toilet area of the Love Machine nightclub before it spilled out onto Little Chapel St in Prahran about 1am August 16.
An 18-year-old man allegedly suffered horrific stab wounds to his buttocks and groin area.
His injuries were so severe he was placed into an induced coma.
Three emergency operations were performed on his injuries to his mid and lower body.
The alleged stabbing attack is understood to have occurred just days before a Comanchero bikie was accused of brawling outside the same joint.
The patched member of the Comanchero was this week hit with a series of charges in relation to that August 18 incident.
Six search warrants were simultaneously carried out about 8am on Wednesday where items of clothing were seized by detectives investigating the alleged stabbing.
It is understood those detectives will forensically analyse the clothes to match them to the CCTV footage of the stabbing frenzy.
Mobile phones and other electronic items were also seized.
A Caroline Springs man, 19, was arrested at his home and was hit with a series of charges including recklessly causing serious injury, assault-related offences, affray, and failing to comply with direction to assist.
He was remanded in custody following an appearance at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday. He is due to appear again on Thursday.
A South Melbourne man, 19, a second Caroline Springs man, 18, a Donnybrook man, 25, and a Narre Warren man, 24, were also arrested on Wednesday.
They were all charged with various assault-related offences including affray and failing to comply with direction to assist.
The group were bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on November 11.
Another South Melbourne man, 21, was interviewed and released pending further inquiries.
The popular nightclub was in 2019 at the centre of a brazen drive-by shooting which saw Jacob Elliot, the son of Nabil Maghnie, murder two people.
The venue in June escaped with a $20,000 fine and a stern warning over its separate but highly-publicised licensing issues in the past.
