Troubled ex-AFL player Tarryn Thomas has allegedly been caught in possession of drugs and small plastic bags, along with another man, in Melbourne CBD.
It is alleged police spotted a Lamborghini with a man sitting in the passenger seat parked in a no standing zone on Spencer St just before 1am Saturday and approached the vehicle.
Police conducted a search of the vehicle when the passenger got out of the car.
“Officers searched the car and it is alleged deal bags and drugs were located in the vehicle,” a Victoria Police spokesperson said.
“The driver of the vehicle returned and both men were interviewed for possession of a drug of dependence.
“The pair, a 25-year-old man from Ormond and a 24-year-old man from Thomastown, are expected to be charged on summons.”
It comes just three weeks after Thomas was reportedly held at gunpoint following a car sale gone bad in Ballarat.
Thomas told police that on April 12 he travelled to a pub with friends to sell his girlfriend’s vehicle, meeting a group of men around 9pm.
He told police that he and his friends were held at gunpoint by two men for a number of hours, who demanded they hand over the car and cash.
Thomas was sacked by the Kangaroos in February last year after repeated conduct breaches and a pattern of poor behaviour towards women.
He pleaded guilty to breaching a court order involving an ex-partner but avoided a criminal conviction and was placed on a 12-month good behaviour bond.
An AFL return for Thomas is looking even less likely following this latest incident with the league yet to decide on his future eligibility.
