The glamorous bride of Notorious Crime Family gangster Jimmey Barkho is hoping to have her bail conditions changed so she can jet off for a fairytale honeymoon with her new husband.

Mia Coory pleaded guilty at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday – only one week on from her lavish wedding – to fraudulently obtaining a home loan worth $744,000.

Echo Taskforce detectives had charged Coory with obtaining financial advantage by deception in July as part of Operation Steelers, which had probed the activities of the Notorious Crime Family.

The 30-year-old had also been accused of dealing with the proceeds of crime and creating false documents, but those charges were thrown out on Tuesday.

According to court documents, Coory obtained a home loan from the Bank of Melbourne in March this year to buy a Tullamarine property by “falsely representing her financial position”.

No further details of the crime were aired in court.

The bailed bride, who appeared via video link, wore a white ribbed skivvy and spoke little during the committal mention.

The court heard that the 30-year-old was seeking to have her bail varied because Barkho and her were hoping to honeymoon.

Defence lawyer Daniel Georgiou said the newlyweds had not yet booked flights nor accommodation because they thought it was “prudent” to wait for Coory’s bail to be revised.

“It hasn’t been locked in yet because the variation hadn’t been put in place,” Mr Georgiou said.

But Magistrate Donna Bakos said she would not be granting any bail variations without knowing more about the honeymoon.

“It’s too airy fairy,” Ms Bakos said.

“You can apply to the County Court to vary her bail once you know dates and once you know exactly when she’s leaving, where she’s going to stay and when she’s coming back.

“I’m not allowing for such a vague variation.”

Her bail was extended, with conditions she not leave the state and not contact witnesses for the prosecution.

Earlier this month, Barkho and Coory hosted a raucous reception at the Manor on High in Epping after tying the knot.

The pair were due to be married in 2020, but the nuptials were delayed due to the pandemic.

Coory wore a bespoke Steven Khalil gown, with a price tag estimated about $35,000.

She will return to court for a plea hearing on March 31.
