Burnouts and crowd-surfing at what could be Melbourne’s low society event of the year

Notorious Crime Family identity Jimmey Barkho and partner Mia Coory have tied the knot in front of hundreds of guests at a raucous reception in Epping.

Burnout at Jimmey Barkho and Mia Coory wedding

Notorious Crime Family identity Jimmey Barkho married his long term partner Mia Coory in a lavish ceremony attended by most of the gang’s major players, including previously self-exiled gangster Jesse Marrogi.

Barkho and Ms Coory were due to be married in 2020, but the nuptials were delayed due to the pandemic, and the couple welcomed their daughter, Sienna, in the meantime.

Barkho, recently released on bail following his arrest on gun charges, wore a flashy, white, double-breasted, made-to-measure Dolce & Gabbana suit accessorised with a pair of $1300 Christian Louboutin velvet “Dandy Chick” loafers and an $80,000, diamond encrusted Franck Muller watch.

Ms Coory wore a stunning, bespoke Steven Khalil gown, with a price tag estimated around $35,000.

Hundreds of family, friends and underworld figures attended the raucous reception at Manor on High Reception in Epping, in what could easily be dubbed Melbourne’s low society event of the year.

The happy couple enjoyed their first dance to a scintillating performance by violinist Sally Cooper, who once famously played at Jay Z’s private birthday celebrations, surrounded by indoor fireworks.

The reception was filmed in its entirety, including the couple’s bridal waltz, hours of dancing, and Barkho crowd-surfing on the dance floor.

Barkho, a fitness addict who has recently posted videos of his pre-wedding “shredding” efforts on social media, worked up a sweat and looked jubilant the entire night.

Among the more intriguing guests was Jesse Marrogi, the baby brother of NCF boss George Marrogi.

It is understood the Jesse Marrogi returned to Australian in large part to attend the wedding.

His recent whereabouts has largely been a mystery, after he left the country around the time his older brother was charged with directing the activities of the NCF from inside his maximum security cell at Barwon Prison, including the alleged masterminding of major drug imports.

In recent years, authorities have seized millions of dollars worth of assets linked to the NCF and to Marrogi, including a large real estate portfolio and a veritable fleet of luxury cars.

Barkho and Ms Coory’s wedding entourage included a white, $700,000 Lamborghini Aventador convertible, a $300,000 Mercedes Benz G-Wagon, and a gold-plated Harley Davidson trike. Revellers, who met at a home in the northern suburbs around 10am, before the ceremony, did burnouts in high-powered modified cars in the streets before partying into the night.

Barkho, who has recently finished a stint in a drug rehab facility, will face court in the new year, where he is expected to face charges stemming from photos of him brandishing firearms, in alleged breach of a firearm prohibition order.

He will also contest a charge of urinating in a police cell.
