A bicycle belonging to murder victim Jarrad Lovison was seen days after he was killed.
Detectives from the missing persons squad say the green mountain bike was seen propped against a tree on Becks Bridge Rd at Tanjil South on April 18.
The sighting was three days after it is believed Mr Lovison, of Newborough in the Latrobe Valley, was murdered.
The 37-year-old’s body was found last month at Moondarra, 29km from his home.
Police suspect he was murdered there and have converged on the Latrobe Valley this week as part of an intensifying probe.
The sighting of the bike on Becks Bridge Rd was made at about 2.30pm, just north of Adam View Court.
There had been a crash nearby about two hours earlier, which police attended.
A man later went to look at debris, saw the bike leaning against a tree and moved to near a bus stop.
A white station wagon pulled over about 4.30pm and removed the bike.
“Investigators are interested in identifying and speaking to the driver and occupants of the white wagon and are looking to recover the bicycle,” a police spokeswoman said.
The last sighting of Mr Lovison came on April 15 as he rode the bike along March St, Newborough.
