Missing persons squad detectives will descend on the Latrobe Valley in coming days amid the intensifying hunt for the killer of Jarrad Lovison.

They intend to make a sweep of visits to people they think may have information on what happened to Mr Lovison in the period after he went missing on April 15 this year.

His body was found dumped near a roadside in bush at Moondarra on May 23, about 29 km from his Newborough home.

Detectives will be in the Moe and Newborough areas for several days as part of the fresh push to solve the 37-year-old’s murder.

One of the elements they are trying to piece together is what happened to his green mountain bike, which has still not been found.

Mr Lovison’s black labrador Slade was found at his home, puzzling loved ones who say he would not go anywhere without the dog.

He was working in the timber industry at the time of his disappearance and had spoken of plans to move to Queensland in coming months.

The last sighting of him alive was as he rode his mountain bike along March St, Newborough, at 9.45pm on April 15.

He had been seen at Kmart and Woolworths stores in Moe earlier that day and also met a friend in Belvedere St, Newborough.

Detective Insp. Andrew Stamper of the missing persons squad said those who police suspected had knowledge of what had happened to Mr Lovison could expect a knock on the door.

Jarrad is described as being 213cm tall with a slim build and has a shaved head, last seen wearing a dark coloured top and pants, as well as dark runners with red socks.

He has been known to ride his bike around Newborough and wear a small lighter coloured crossbody bag.
