Moana Hope and wife Isabella Carlstrom are over the moon with the arrival of their second child and have celebrated their news with some adorable photos on Instagram.
Hope, a former AFLW star, and her swedish model partner are getting to know their son Ahi Joseph Carlstrom, who arrived at almost 4kg with Hope carrying her son for more than 40 weeks.
The news is another blessing for the couple, who celebrated the birth of their first child, daughter Svea Hope Carlstrom, in November 2020.
This time around it was very different.
Svea was conceived via IVF treatment and carried by Carlstrom.
Ahi shares the same donor as Svea, the couple previously announced.
Their special moment has been shared with fans on Instagram with some beautiful photos of the couple’s first moments with their children.
“Oh how wonderful life is now that you are in the world,” Hope, 33, captioned a photo showing her holding her son’s tiny feet.
“We are so in love.”
She also in another post: “We are proud parents of this beautiful little baby boy.
“His name is Ahi Joseph Carlstrom 24.6.
“️Coming in at almost 4kg’s, we endured 24 hours of labour that was the hardest and most challenging thing I’ve ever done in my life both physically and emotionally.
“It brought us to the most beautiful little boy. You my little guy are perfect and your Mums love you.”
Carlstrom also took to Instagram to share the news, posting her adoration at what her partner overcame during the labour.
“You are incredible, I’m so unbelievably proud of you,” she wrote.
“You went to hell and back to get our beautiful boy safely to us. I don’t have words to describe what it feels like to share this experience with you and understand each other on such a deep level.
“You’re so strong and I love you very much. You’re such a natural and Svea and Ahi are so lucky to have you as their Mum. Ahi, we all love you so much everything and shines a little brighter now that you’re earth side.”
Perhaps the most special moment of all was a brief video posted on Hopes’ Instagram stories showing her feeding her newborn while Carlstrom breastfeeds Svea at 18-months.
Hope was one of the first major stars in the AFLW, having had a stellar career at state league level, including becoming the first woman to kick over 100 goals in a VFL Women’s season in 2016, before playing a few seasons of the AFLW.
But she was delisted by North Melbourne after the 2019 season, and her focus became her family. After marrying in August 2019, the couple soon announced they were pregnant with their first child.
Last year, Hope said the couple had spoken about having three children.
She joked to Woman’s Day: “I want a houseful of babies. But we’re aiming for three at the moment.
“I was able to pull Svea out and put her onto Bell’s chest and in that moment I felt an overwhelming sense of love and protection that I’ve never felt before.”
