A couple killed in a country crash, which left their young niece fighting for life, have been honoured as “happy souls”.
Adam Boland, 39, and Eloise Rigby, 23, were killed on Friday when the car they were travelling in crashed at Wunghnu, near Shepparton.
Their four-year-old niece last night remained critical but stable in the Royal Children’s Hospital.
Mr Boland’s mum, who asked not to be named, told the Sunday Herald Sun the couple’s dog Bella was also killed in the tragedy.
The families planned to bury the couple together with their beloved pet, she said.
Family members remembered the pair as “happy souls” and car enthusiasts.
They were travelling with their niece — the daughter of Ms Rigby’s 28-year-old sister, who was driving the Holden Commodore when it veered into the path of another car on the Goulburn Valley Highway.
She escaped serious injury.
Mr Boland’s cousin, who asked not to be named, paid tribute to the Shepparton man on Saturday night.
