Putting the squeeze on Victoria’s movers, shakers and headline makers
A mystery on the turquoise waters of the Mornington Peninsula is causing waves in the wealthy bayside enclave.
It’s not so much a whodunit, but more a what-the-hell-happened?
Rob Curtain, the managing director of Sotheby’s International Realty Peninsula, posted a cryptic denial of sorts to his social media page, with a mission “to address rumours and gossipers.”
“I assure everyone I have not lost my car or boat license due to any boating incident,” he said on the Instagram handle, @peninsulaproperties.
“All licenses remain valid with no charges laid after a misleading report made to police. Thank you for your support and understanding. Rob.”
He added: “PS. I shouldn’t have to post this but some people just can’t help themselves talking about others.”
Mr Curtain closed his social media post with a barrage of hashtags: #noincident #gossipmungers #boatingmishaps #localrumours #policedoingtheirjob.
Mr Curtain is a leading real estate agent on The Ninch.
A Sotheby’s website says he has transacted “more sales over $3 million dollars than any other sales agent on the Peninsula” in the last eight years.
Weirdly, the website also mentions: “In his time off, (Mr Curtain) can be found on his tractor.”
