State Attorney-General Sonya Kilkenny appears to have a rat in her department.
Or possibly a pack of rats.
A social media account purported to be run by public servants – and who are using the Community and Public Sector Union banner – has been slagging off Labor’s new bail laws, which Premier Jacinta Allan calls the toughest in the land.
“A step backwards for our state,” they wrote online.
“These laws will lead to more people being held in pre-trial detention, increasing pressure on court services, legal aid, corrections, and community support services, while doing little to improve public safety.”
Curiously, the social media accounts, which have hundreds of followers, have listed their address as 121 Exhibition Street, where Sonya Kilkenny’s department resides.
One Labor Party figure said having the Department of Justice and Community Safety headquarters as their social media address was “embarrassing” for the ALP and Kilkenny, while suggesting the Socialist Party could be behind the attack, given the left wing fringe party hopes to steal some disaffected voters ahead of the Federal Election.
If so, stay tuned for some more left-on-left political fisticuffs.
The CPSU said the group was in no way associated with the union.
Whoever they are, if they truly are working within department ranks, Labor might want to start laying some traps.
