The Source: MP Will Fowles shows up at MCG, hours after announcing parliament boycott

Controversial MP Will Fowles appears to have struck the perfect work-life balance — doing fun things like going to the footy, while avoiding annoying things, like going to work.

Daniel Andrews demanded Will Fowles’ resignation from the Labor Party.

Ousted Victorian Labor MP Will Fowles has become the perfect picture of work-life balance.

Hours after issuing a press release to say he would boycott parliamentary sittings (i.e, work), Mr Fowles was spotted congregating (i.e, enjoying life) at another bipartisan event — the Collingwood-Brisbane clash at the MCG.

The sighting came — literally — after Mr Fowles said he’ll be absent from parliament until a police investigation against him had wrapped up.

A government employee approached then-premier Daniel Andrews with allegations against Mr Fowles, the Member for Ringwood, on August 3.

Mr Andrews requested and received Mr Fowles’ resignation and the matter was referred to Victoria Police.

Last Saturday, Mr Fowles said in a statement: “It is now 8 weeks since the former Premier referred an allegation to Victoria Police. I have not been spoken to by anyone regarding this false allegation.

“I have written to the Speaker today advising her that I will not be attending Parliamentary sitting days until such time as any investigation concludes.”

He added: “I’ll continue to work in my electorate and make representations on behalf of my constituents.”

Then he went to the footy.
