The Source: Crime syndicate The Commission’s surprise business quote in message to dealers

An ominous missive from crime syndicate The Commission aimed at controlling cocaine prices reveals they are unexpectedly well read in motivational business literature.

Putting the squeeze on Victoria’s movers, shakers and headline makers.

Those at the top of the cocaine trafficking tree are probably not the first writers you’d think of when it comes to business literature.

But they are clearly well read, judging by the latest missive from The Commission, a kind of cocaine market regulator which aims to control supply and pricing.

The aggressive bulletin opens with a quote from Tim Fargo who, Wikipedia says, is an American author and fraud investigation company-founder.

“Your friends will believe your potential, your enemies will make you live up to it,” are the wise words they borrow.

The Source had never heard of Fargo until The Commission issued its ominous warning to the coke slingers of Australia this week.

The Commission’s position is succinct on dealers who buck the system and choose to sell at lower than The Commission’s prescribed prices.

“Go on and sell while we hold back and hunt,” this week’s message says.

We’d love to ask who puts the bulletins together, and whether references to JM Keynes, Sun Tzu, Niccolo Machiavelli and Warren Buffett are imminent.

But The Commission, as highly mobilised as it appears to be, appears to lack a media inquiries section.

Felgate back from Europe and firming for 3AW show

With her ultra-luxe vacation across Europe’s hot spots done and dusted, will Jacqui Felgate finally be crowned as Dee Dee Dunleavy’s permanent replacement on 3AW’s afternoon show?

Time will tell.

Radio insiders say Felgate has always been a firm favourite to take the arvo slot on AW, but her family holiday, which included the best locales in Greece, Italy and France, with necessary filters and hashtags, took priority over work commitments.

However, with Felgate and fam about to fly back to Melbourne, giving her 243,000 Instagram followers sweet relief from relentless five-star vaycay spam, the popular broadcaster will be back in work mode.

Felgate is considered the golden child after coming over to the Nine Network earlier last year following a lengthy stint at Channel 7 as a reporter and presenter.

Felgate started at the radio station slowly, debuting with a segment on Ross and Russel’s top rating morning show before filling in as a holiday host alongside Brownlow medallist Jimmy Bartel.

She also became a member of the 3AW football team this season, hosting on Friday nights and Saturday afternoons.

It’s no secret the network is looking to skew to a younger audience, with Sydney executives liking what they see, and hear, in Felgate.

Popular host Dunleavy, a consistent ratings topper on AW, left the station in June after it was revealed the station would not renew her contract at the end of the year.

“I was having the time of my life in my job,” Dunleavy said on social media following her shock departure.

“I’m devastated that it has come to an end.”
