We all love belting out a favourite tune out on the road and Melbourne gangland figures like Sam Abdulrahim and Nabil Maghnie are – or were – no exception.
Abdulrahim’s sister Amira posted a treasured memory of “The Punisher” recently doing some of his best vocal work accompanying a tune The Source has been unable to identify.
A relaxed Abdulrahim betrayed no sign of concern at the wheel of a prestige vehicle, even as a swag of dangerous enemies circled.
Of course, the former bikie and boxer has now gone to the great Carpool Karaoke in the sky after a hit team pounced on him in Preston in a not entirely unexpected ambush.
The account which posted the video indicated there is more to play out in what happened.
“Who betrayed you won’t be forgotten by Allah,” it says.
Abdulrahim’s Middle-eastern organised crime counterpart Maghnie was also known for some flamboyant singing when out and about.
After his January, 2020, murder at Epping, video surfaced of Maghnie’s wholehearted rendition of Ride Like the Wind by Christopher Cross.
His killing remains unsolved but Maghnie’s cover version of the Grammy-winning hit hasn’t been forgotten.
