A joy ride throughout the suburbs of Melbourne has ended dramatically for two teens, with stunning pictures capturing the moment they were arrested.
Victoria Police were led on a wild chase on Sunday night, after two 16-year-old boys allegedly stole a vehicle from Moorabbin.
The pair was observed allegedly driving the car throughout multiple suburbs before stop sticks were later deployed, bringing the hatchback to a halt on Burke Rd in Hawthorn East.
Police swooped in to arrest the pair, bringing the ordeal to an end at 9pm.
The remarkable scenes were captured on camera, with photos showing the car’s bald tyres as a result of the stop sticks.
Meanwhile, in another picture, at least 10 officers were observed standing at the scene, with some guarding the teenagers while others inspected the vehicle.
One of the offenders was observed sitting barefoot against a brick wall under police guard, while the second alleged thief was seen lying face down with his arms behind his back as an officer stood over him.
It’s understood the offenders were later taken to hospital for observation with a Victoria Police spokesperson confirming no one was injured during the incident.
The spokesperson later confirmed on Monday, one of the boys had been released from hospital and is expected to be charged with theft of a motor vehicle.
Meanwhile, the other boy remains in hospital under police guard.
“The exact circumstances are being investigated,” the Police spokesperson said.
