TWO of Melbourne’s great loves are together in a crazy new way.
A new black latte continues the trend for crazy coffees, but at least it matches the city’s favoured dress code.
Created by CBD cafe White Mojo, it blends steamed soy milk with a smooth paste of stoneground black sesame seeds, peanuts and almonds.
Owner Ben Luo says he perfected the oh-so-Melbourne drop for the growing number of customers who prefer not to drink coffee or who follow a vegan lifestyle.
“While the black latte looks great, our point of difference is that it actually tastes delicious and sweet, too,” Mr Luo said.
It’s the latest addition to the loopy latte craze, which has included a golden latte with turmeric, the “Smurf latte” sporting blue algae and the deconstructed latte with its elements served separately in beakers or test tubes that drinkers mix themselves.
