Meet the woman who has stopped Melbourne’s ‘Mr Lambo’, Adrian Portelli, in his tracks.
Karlie Butler and high profile entrepreneur Portelli stepped out for a day at the Australian Grand Prix on Friday, two months after the birth of their son.
The couple could not have been happier as they navigated their way through the Paddock Club suites, holding hands and positively beaming, before heading off to check out some luxury car displays in the Fan Zone where Portelli was mobbed by racegoers inspired by his success and keen on a selfie.
Portelli was full of praise for Butler, his partner of over a year, telling of his admiration for her as a mother to their child.
Fatherhood, he said, was the “best thing ever but, mum (Karlie) is the superstar. She is amazing.”
Portelli and Butler have not released the name of their son, but the LMCT+ founder gave Butler an Aston Martin DBX, which retails around $350,000, as a push present.
Portelli revealed he was postponing the unreserved auction of his remaining home purchased for $3.25 million on The Block in Hampton.
Portelli was going to auction the house at 22 Charming Street, which was renovated by sisters Liberty and Eliza Paschke, on March 24, but realising it was the same day as the Australian Grand Prix he has shifted the auction into early April.
He said he was not concerned that the house might sell for less than he paid.
“Whatever it goes for, it goes for,” he said.
Portelli said he expected to be moving into the Melbourne penthouse he bought for $39 million in early 2023, by the end of the year.
“The penthouse is getting fitted out now, we will be in by Christmas,” he said.
A well known luxury car enthusiast, Portelli has dabbled in motorsport sponsorship, but ruled out putting money into F1 like fellow Melburnians Ed Craven and Bijan Tehrani.
“No, they have more money than me. That is a big money game, that is out of my league,” Portelli said.
“I just sponsor a team here in Australia. That is a fraction of the cost.”
