“Lambo Guy” Adrian Portelli has responded to a wave of unflattering headlines by opining and dining.

Mr Portelli was spotted at lunch in Albert Park on Monday with The Block creator Julian Cress. Insiders say the meet and eat indicates luxury car enthusiast Portelli is in a buying mood for the renovation show’s auction on November 4.

Mr Cress gave Mr Portelli a private tour of the Hampton homes remodelled for the 2023 season.

The lunch sighting followed a weekend of scathing news reports regarding the multi-millionaire dubbed Mr Lambo.

But, on Monday, Mr Portelli clapped back at claims he allegedly stripped $100,000 worth of goods from a Block house, saying he’d been targeted over the matter due to “tall poppy syndrome.”

It came after the Herald Sun revealed CCTV footage showing a group of men, including Mr Portelli, removing a number of items from a Gisborne home, which he claims he bought for $4.25m on last year’s season of The Block.

The video shows the group in March this year removing various items including up to $50,000 worth of wine, Smeg appliances, a robomower, meat smoker and a treadmill. He has accounced he will be giving all the goods away to the homeless.

“I’m tough-skinned, so whatever, bring it on,” Mr Portelli said on social media.

Kevin Griffin and wife Andrea won the Gisborne home through Mr Portelli’s lottery company LMCT+. But the couple said they were shocked to discover the CCTV footage.

“We were just like, what the hell?” Ms Griffin said. “Why has he done this?”

Mr Portelli said he had the lawful right to remove the items from the property and the couple had been “ungrateful.”

The Sunday Herald Sun also revealed LMCT+ is being investigated in Victoria and South Australia for breaching gambling laws.

Mr Portelli has denied his business operates outside the law.

After a tough weekend for Mr Lambo, The Source hopes Mr Cress paid for lunch.
