Revheads and foodies can unite in the biggest ever offering of trackside delights at this year’s Formula One Australian Grand Prix.
For the first time, racegoers can dine at a pop-up restaurant with Melbourne laneway favourite MoVida bringing its tapas and Spanish adaptations.
The bookable experience across all four days will be situated at the new Melbourne Junction
precinct located in the heart of the circuit between the lake and the main straight.
It is segmented into three distinct areas called Collins St, Lygon St and The Esplanade.
It also features award-winning winery St Hugo, showcasing its latest range with former Aussie driver and winemaker in training Daniel Ricciardo, with a pop-up wine bar.
The Espy returns to Albert Park, with beers on tap for the first time while Melbourne coffee
institution ST. ALi will have two sites in Melbourne Junction. The Grill’d x Oscar Piastri limited edition burger is sure to be a hit.
In the Prost area, Chapel Street icon Mr. Miyagi is making a bold entrance with its all-new Fockatsu Sando, not your average katsu sando. Another icon, Freddy’s Pizza, is making its Grand Prix debut, bringing red-hot Ferrari vibes with a mouthwatering pizza lineup.
“We are incredibly excited to be back at F1 GP for the third year, bringing our delicious spin on a katsu style focaccia that has been fun to develop,’’ said Mr Miyagi owner Kristian Klein.
“Last year we dropped the Prawn Roll, and it went crazy and sold out every day. People loved it so much that we had to put it on the restaurant menu permanently. We love bringing our developmental items to the track, and this year’s menu is going to be the best yet. We can’t wait for everyone to get around it and try for themselves.”
Freddy’s Dan Leuzzi added: “As proud Melburnians and long time lovers of this great event we couldn’t be more excited. We remember as kids getting so excited hearing the cars and noises this time of year, especially now from our restaurant on Chapel st in Windsor — it is something so ingrained in our city’s culture — to be a part of the sporting and food capital’s major event is an absolute privilege”
Other first-timers include Hochi Mama with a katsu sando created in conjunction with viral sensation, Bangin Sangas’ Ross Howse, plus Fonda Mexican, Royal Stacks, Bincho Boss and Hella Good.
On the Lygon St side of the Melbourne Junction precinct, newcomers include Brunetti Classico, Pidapipo Gelati, Bianco, I Love Pasta and Johnny, Vince & Sam.
Returning to race week to round out Melbourne Junction are Lune Croissanterie, Pinchy’s Lobster Rolls, 400 Gradi, Burger Boy, La Santa Muerte, Papi’s Chicken and San Pellegrino.
“Melbourne has one of the best food and social scenes in the world, and we want the Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit to be a true representation of all that the city has to offer,’’ said Grand Prix CEO Travis Auld.
“The Melbourne Junction precinct will be home to some of our favourite local brands, including MoVida Presented by American Express, bringing an elevated dine-in restaurant experience to racegoers.”
