A YOUNG Melbourne man in his 20s is one of two lucky people who have won a life-changing $50 million in the Powerball jackpot.
The Lott spokesman Matthew Hart said the over-the-moon winner knew he was a multi-millionaire when he checked his entry before bed.
“I’m going to look after my whole family — invest money in property and shares. It will make a massive difference to a lot of people,” the winner said.
The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his entry online via OzLotteries.com — one of the Lott’s authorised resellers.

However, the winners’ identities remain a mystery as the Sydney entry was unregistered so someone still has a winning ticket.
The winning numbers were 33, 3, 32, 13, 27, 35 and 31, and the Powerball 3.
The Oz Lotteries website crashed last night as desperate punters rushed to find out whether they had won.
“Make sure you check your entry tonight or first thing in the morning because you may not have to go to work,” Mr Hart said last night.
“Instead, you could start planning how you can play by your own rules and begin your life as a multi-millionaire.”
Almost 3.5 million other players collected a return ranging from a division two prize of $122,000 down to ninth division’s $10.55.
Yesterday, Mr Hart said outlets were expected to be “increasingly busy” ahead of the draw.
The jackpot was the equal highest lottery prize ever recorded in Australia. A $100 million prize was on offer for an Oz Lotto draw back in 2012.
Grandparents from Hervey Bay in Queensland hold the current record for the biggest win in the country.
The pair won $70 million in January 2016.
“Before their life-changing windfall the winners confessed to never having won anything more than a chook raffle,” Mr Hart said.
It comes after the mysterious Victorian winner of $55 million came forward to claim their prize months after the numbers were announced.
