Australia Post and truck drivers clash on Melbourne road

Appalling dashcam footage has captured the moment a truck driver and Australia Post courier clashed in a vile road rage incident amid a busy intersection in Melbourne’s west.

Video shows a double semi-trailer appearing to fail to give way to the national postal service vehicle at a roundabout on Boundary Rd in Sunshine West, on Tuesday afternoon.

Both vehicles were forced to brake, in addition to a Mack truck which was travelling behind the Australia Post vehicle.

Within seconds, the driver of the semi-trailer jumped out of his cab, before running to the driver side of the Australia Post vehicle.

While the video is inaudible, the truck driver appears to be yelling at the Australia Post employee as he bangs on the driver’s window.

The pair appear to exchange some words before the truck driver walks back to his vehicle.

But it didn’t end there, with the Australia Post driver taking matters into his own hands by speeding off in his Toyota Hiace, appearing to nudge the truck driver in the process.

The ordeal lasted 40 seconds with the video later posted to social media, where it received more than 68,000 views.

It’s unclear if police were called to the incident, with a Victoria Police spokesman unable to comment. It’s also not known if the truck driver was injured.

An Australia Post spokesman told the Herald Sun they were made aware of the incident and were investigating the matter.

“The behaviour shown in the video is completely unacceptable and falls well below the standards Australia Post expects of its team members,” they said.

“It is especially disappointing given safety is a core priority and value of the organisation.”

It’s understood Australia Post has launched a full investigation into the incident.
