After hosting ABC TV’s News Breakfast since 2008, Trioli had been widely tipped to take over from Faine and she was invited on his program this morning to make the announcement.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to be taking on one of the most precious radio jobs in the country,” Trioli said
“Jon and the ABC Melbourne team, for more than two decades, have created an agenda-setting and community-building program.”
No decision has been made on who would replace Trioli next year on News Breakfast, which she hosts with Michael Rowland.
