Melbourne radio ratings: Has footy return helped steer SEN ratings from the brink?

Has struggling SEN managed to crawl its way back in the game in the latest radio ratings survey? We reveal the latest kings and queens of Melbourne’s airwaves.

The breakfast ratings dominance of FOX FM has ended, as footy helped SEN make small gains across all markets in the latest radio ratings survey.

The crew of Fifi Box, Brendan Fevola and Byron Cooke on FOX FM recorded 8.7 per cent, a fall of 1.5, to come in second behind FM rival smoothfm.

Their duo of Jennifer Hansen and Mike Person hit the lead with a figure of 9.5 for the first time.

For SEN mornings with Gerard Whateley recorded the highest rise but his 3.0 was still lower than evenings on 4.0.

3AW’s Ross Stevenson and John Burns was again the no. 1 breakfast show with 19.5 but its main rival ABC dropped from 10.1 to 8.6.

Triple M’s Hot Breakfast team of Eddie McGuire, Luke Darcy and Wil Anderson came in third on the FM dial with a steady 8.1. They were followed by Nova and GOLD FM.

In drive FOX FM’s team of Tommy Little and Carrie Bickmore followed by Dave Hughes and Kate Langbroek, was still the no. 1 FM team despite dropping 0.9, while Triple M’s Jane Kennedy and Mick Molloy fell 1.1 to 8.1.

Macquarie Sports dropped the most in breakfast to record only 0.1.
