THE new star of The Real Housewives of Melbourne Venus Behbahani-Clark, 35, doesn’t want to be known as “plastic fantastic”.
Behbahani-Clark, who was announced alongside Sally Bloomfield, 51, as the reality show’s two new cast members today, admits she has had plastic surgery, but she says calling her plastic fantastic is going too far.
“Calling me plastic fantastic is not right, because I’m not plastic fantastic,” she said.
“I’ve done a few things, and I don’t think they are outside of the norm, with my age group, and within my culture.
“Rhinoplasty (nose job), is something that 90 per cent of Persian women have had done.
“I had an uncle, who is a plastic surgeon, who gave it to me as a gift at age 21. I had my breasts done after I breastfed children for four years.
“I don’t even know why it’s called plastic surgery, when it’s your own features being enhanced or changed.”
New addition Bloomfield, who owns a boutique hotel in Bali and a homewares shop in Barwon Heads, was recommended by PR queen Judy Romano and said she’s had a dream run so far.
“It’s quite intense, but it’s been great,” she said.
“I haven’t done much with the girls, I’ve had a couple of one-on-ones, and a couple of things of all of us together. So far, so good.”
However, the Herald Sun understands it’s not the same for Behbahani-Clark, who has been in the middle of some fiery scenes already.
“It’s been a tough ride coming into it because I’ve had some of my own drama outside of the show,” she said
“Outside of that, the girls have been great, they have been welcoming and it’s be great to get to know them.”
The newbies join series stalwarts and returning housewives Gina Liano, Gamble Breaux, Janet Roach, Jackie Gillies and Lydia Schiavello.
The seven women have been spotted filming around Melbourne over the past few weeks and already there have been a few fireworks, which viewers of the reality TV franchise have been accustomed to.
The housewives have been filming the fourth series of the Foxtel reality show for a few weeks now, but a release date is yet to be announced.
The first season of The Real Housewives of Sydney finished last Sunday, and the Melbourne series is expected to have a different tone.
