2021 TAYLORS ESTATE LABEL RIESLING: $22
Nipping at the heels acidity that won’t quit. Smells like tinned tennis balls and tastes distinctly of a Clare Valley riesling with bounds of lime and green apple. A long finish. An excellent wine that’s astonishingly affordable.

2022 MOTHERBLOCK WHITE: $23
Burst-through-the-door dramatic acidity with pear, ripe stonefruits and mango splice to finish. Tingly lemon acidity with enough minerality and front for food. Juicy, crunchy and impressive for its price. Pour me with spaghetti vongole or marinara.
Small Patch, The Alps, Union Wine Store
2020 RIZIERI LANGHE DOC ARNEIS ‘ARVIÀ’: $24.90
In Italian, ‘Arvia’ is a word used to describe a vivacious and smart kid. You could say the same about this wine. An elegant combo of ripe pear, minerality, almond meal nuttiness, tickled with pink grapefruit. It’s complex and carefree, allowing for both thinkers to think and drinkers to drink. Gets better as it warms in your glass – if you can keep it there long enough.

2021 INNOCENT BYSTANDER FIELD BLEND: $25
A fruit salad of ultra-ripe peach flesh, white nectarines and grapefruit tang. Citrus charges through the palate, high-ish alcohol well integrated with mineral grip, almond meal creaminess and stone fruit singing a soulful song throughout. Easydrinking, no thinking required.

2021 TSCHARKE ‘GIRL TALK’ MARANANGA: $12 (current vintage $20)
A medley of lemon and grapefruit pulse like a current through this wine. Abundant with stone fruit, apple and citrus on the nose, with mineral texture and chatty green apple and lemon lubricating the palate and conversation. Inoffensively decent drinking.
