A Woolworths employee based at the supermarket giant’s Werribee store has tested positive to coronavirus.

Woolworths announced on Friday that a team member at Woolworths Werribee Central was self-isolating after testing positive to the killer virus.

The employee last worked at the store on August 15 and Woolworths management said in a statement on their website they would provide “full support” to any staff who needed to isolate.

“While the risk of transmission to customers and team members is low, the safety and wellbeing of the local community is our priority,” the statement read.

“Customers and team members should be assured they can continue to safely shop and work at our Werribee Central store.”
