Police have arrested six males over an alleged violent assault at a shopping centre in Melbourne’s west where three people were stabbed.

Six males have been arrested over an alleged violent attack at a shopping centre in Melbourne’s west that saw three people stabbed.

Police rushed to the Pacific Werribee Shopping Centre in Hoppers Crossing after triple-0 callers reported a group attacking multiple other people about 9.40pm on January 6.

One witness later posted about the “terrifying” experience on social media, saying she allegedly saw a terrified person being chased by members of the group shouting “get him”.

Some of the group were allegedly armed with machetes and knives, and three males later self-presented at a nearby hospital with lacerations and puncture wounds.

On Wednesday, police revealed four males have been charged with offences including violent disorder, affray, armed with criminal intent, weapons offences and theft over the alleged attack.

A 18-year-old Point Cook man and a 16-year-old boy who were arrested over the alleged incident were later released pending further charges.

A 19-year-old Hoppers Crossing man has been remanded to face Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on February 1 and three youths will face court at a later date.

A Victoria Police spokeswoman said investigations into the incident were ongoing, urging anyone with information or who witnessed the incident to contact Crime Stoppers.
