Rain almost conspired against Mount Waverley but the Roos prevailed over the inclement conditions and Endeavour Hills to score a 188-run win on Saturday.
Endeavour Hills was reduced to 7-12 at Mount Waverley Reserve before its tail showed some grit to almost force a draw.
More than an hour was lost to rain, giving the Eagles a chance of sharing the points.
But Mount Waverley secured its eighth win of the North/East season, bowling Endeavour Hills out for 63 in 40.5 overs to move to second on the VSDCA ladder.

Rising from 12th in 2017-18, Roos captain Andy Power declared his side could win the premiership this season.
“The belief in our group is there, and we kind of want to be the silent assassin because we’re just not rated outside our team and I think that works in our favour,” Power said.
“We’re just plodding along, trying to do the simple things right and I think we can go up a gear in March, which is our goal.”
Jake Rigby was the star, grabbing 4-5 off eight overs, including six maidens, while Hugh Birchall was nearly unplayable with the new ball to finish with 2-4 from seven overs.
Power said he was worried the weather would cost his side victory from a dominant position.
“Their tail did wag a bit and I was concerned a bit we were running out of time, because we had two rain breaks where it rained a fair bit,” he said.
“In the end, it was just a matter of trying to get back on there and bowl at the stumps and be really aggressive.”
Power said he was happy for his side to fly under the radar.
“We acknowledge we’ve still got a fair bit of work to do on our batting. We’ve tried to turn things around the last month with our batting and we’re batting our overs now, which is terrific,” he said.
“That said, we were 3-8 in week one … that has been a positive the last month, being able to crack 200, which is our goal every week.”
