A dazzling all-round display from Ivanhoe captain Raza Rizwan guided the Saints to an upset 39-run victory over Kew on Saturday.
Rizwan top-scored with 51 to record his fourth half-century of the VSDCA season before taking 3-13 from seven overs as Ivanhoe defended its total of 9-193 at Ivanhoe Park.

The former Parramatta and University of NSW all-rounder had Kew opener Rohan Wight trapped lbw for a second-ball duck before bowling Liam Ritchie (8) and Sam Jones (12) later in the innings as Kew was dismissed for 154.
The Saints have put together some strong performances in the North/East group this season without reward.
In Round 2 they put up 279 in response to Bayswater’s 6-343, and in Round 5 they fell 15 runs short of chasing down Noble Park’s 9-311.
Rizwan said his side had performed better than its 2-4 record suggested.
“We’ve come close a few times and just lost key moments,” Rizwan said.
“It was good to convert because we’ve been in a winning position in a lot of these games.”
The star pair of David Wildsmith (30) and Chris Weeks (75) came together with the score at 2-13 and put on 57 runs for the third wicket before Kasun Adikari broke the dangerous partnership.
Adikari rattled Wildsmith’s stumps on his way to figures of 4-22 from 7.1 overs.
Rizwan said Ivanhoe’s total was always going to be a difficult chase on a slow wicket.
“We’re learning to play with each other better each week and I guess there’s small improvements in executing and taking our chances,” he said.
“We bowled more disciplined and executed well.”
Kew spinner Sam Jones was a shining light for the visitors, taking a maiden five-wicket haul.
The Englishman collected 5-40 off his nine overs, running through Ivanhoe’s middle-order to take five wickets in the space of 32 runs.
Ivanhoe will next meet Croydon at Croydon Park in a two-day game starting on Saturday.
