Ringwood again put itself in a matchwinning position on Saturday but was unable to capitalise on its stronghold as Camberwell Magpies recorded a five-wicket win at Jubilee Oval.
David King (58) and Nathan Walsh (89) each notched half-centuries in a 139-run partnership after the Rams crumbled to 2-3.

But King’s dismissal, run out by Camberwell captain Andrew Fekete, triggered a collapse of 8-47 as Ringwood was bowled out for 189 with an over to spare.
“It was a terrific partnership but clearly disappointing to have ourselves in a really good position to get a score, which would have been around par of 220,” Ringwood coach Gavin Kellar said.
“We probably just tried to go a little bit early rather than making sure we were posting a total and keeping wickets late when we could have launched.”
The target provided little headaches for the Magpies.
A half-century from Oli Gunning (69) and contributions from Simon Hill (42) and Tom Russ (34) ensured the visitors reached the total with 23 balls to spare.
It’s the third time this Premier Cricket season Ringwood has been in a matchwinning position only to let victory slip from its grasp, dropping to a 2-4 record.
“We’ve been in every game we’ve played and I think that’s a really important thing and we’ve missed chances,” Kellar said.
“It’s just about us taking the learnings where we’ve lost the key moments in those games and next time we’re in them, turning that around into a win.”
Ben Rowles earlier had Ian Holland run out for 1 after a brilliant direct hit from backward square leg, while Fekete found King short of his ground when he threw down the stumps from mid-wicket after completing his delivery.
Kellar said Camberwell’s fielding was influential in the result.
“They had three run outs and we had our opportunities to get a couple of those,” he said.
“One-day games are often won and lost by that … you look at sides that get two run outs in a game, very rarely are they losing one-day games.
“If we’re being realistic, that’s a massive part of it as well.
“We didn’t capitalise on a few of our chances when they did and they just outperformed us very much in the fielding.
“We certainly had opportunities again but unfortunately those key moments, we’ve just got to keep learning and hopefully next time when they’re presenting we’re taking them.”
Ringwood will next meet Essendon at Windy Hill in a two-day game starting on Saturday.
