Joyce has piled on more than 1000 runs in the past two summers with North Metro Cricket Association club Rosebank, including 458 runs at 91 this season.
He opened the 2018-19 campaign with an unbeaten 105 against Rivergum and compiled 142 as part of a 227-run partnership with Ben Dalla Riva on Saturday.
Dalla Riva, who also reached triple figures, made light of Joyce’s ability to turn the strike over on the last ball of each over, such was his control.
Iâve never batted with a bloke that counts better! ....âumpire, how many left?â Umpire: âone remainingâ Joyce: noodles one to mid wicket âyes, thatâs one.â ð

The top-order batsman played his first match for the Reservoir club last season, featuring in a First XI preliminary and grand final after making 122 in a D Grade semi-final.
He finished the season with scores of 71 not out, 85, 89 not out and 122, enjoying several long stints at the batting crease.
In 18 innings for the Eagles, Joyce has scored 51 or better 10 times.
Great to see ex @fitzdonc legend B Joyce make 150 for @rosebankcc today @tim_michell. Could still make them at @vicpremcricket I think. Thoughts @MATTJOYCE00

His marathon innings on Saturday powered Rosebank to 6-461 on day one of its Jika Reserve fixture against Cameron at J.E Moore Park.
Steve Favrin was the third century-maker for the Eagles, finishing unbeaten on 105.
Rosebank third on the Jika Reserve ladder and one game clear on top of Jika Shield after six rounds.
The club’s First XI will chase Preston YCW District’s 9-230 on Saturday as they look to maintain their buffer.
