A racist ranter who went on a sexist tirade against a French tourist has been jailed again — this time for breaching the sex offender’s register.

Hayden Stewart and a misogynistic mate’s verbal violence went viral after they launched an abusive expletive-laden attack on a woman singing on a bus in 2012.

The incident was captured on mobile phone and uploaded onto YouTube, notching nearly five million views and garnering worldwide condemnation.

In the video Stewart screamed at the woman, abusing her and telling her he would cut her open with a box-cutter knife.

After he walked away with his then-girlfriend pushing their six-month-old daughter in a pram, he smashed the bus window, showering passengers with glass.

He was jailed for 63 days and ordered to do 150 hours of unpaid work.

On Monday the Frankston North 32-year-old faced the online Frankston Magistrates’ Court, pleading guilty to one charge of contravening the sex offender’s register.

The court heard Stewart had been put on the register in 2010 with mandatory reporting requiring he tell police about his social media accounts, email addresses and mobile phone numbers.

In his October 2019 interview he failed to declare he had a Facebook page, which was not in his name but had images of him attached.

Police got wind of this and on February 18 this year Stewart was interviewed and remanded in custody.

It was not revealed in court what the sex crime he had committed which led to him being registered on the offender’s list a decade ago.

In April Stewart was given 14 months in jail with a non-parole period of eight months for guns and drug possessions and court order breaches.

His defence lawyer said he had had the same Facebook account for five years and only recently charged the name of it because he wanted “to move on”.

He said Stewart had split up with his partner and wanted a fresh start and changed his page name so he could be “more discreet”.

He accepted he should have known that this was a breach, but requested the sentence imposed not interfere with his proposed parole date of October 18 this year.

Magistrate Timothy Gattuso said Stewart’s excuse was poor, especially considering he had very similar form for not reporting his details to the sex offender’s register.

He said he should spend a little more time inside for this aggravated breach, and jailed him for another two months.
