A “drunken thug” bashed a former pub co-worker because he thought he had been “talking s***” about him.
A court has heard the 18-year Rosebud student used to work with his 19-year-old victim at the Sorrento Hotel, but they had fallen out.

When he saw him again at the pub he verbally abused him, drove home before coming back and repeatedly punching the teenager in the head.
Liam Peter Bradshaw pleaded guilty to a reckless cause injury charge at Frankston Magistrates’ Court earlier this week.
He also pleaded guilty to careless and other driving offences after he crashed his car in Blairgowrie in May and left the scene without telling police.
The court heard Bradshaw used to do part-time work at the hotel alongside the victim.
On December 22 last year the teenager was sat with some friends having a pub meal.
Bradshaw walked past, yelling that he was “talking s***” about him.
He then left before returning a short time later and, with another person, launched into the hapless victim, who didn’t fight back because he didn’t want to lose his job.
Bradshaw punched the man’s face several times, fracturing his nose, before security intervened and ejected him.
When arrested later he told police he had drunk five or six beers that day and admitted confronting the teen.
In court his defence lawyer said Bradshaw, who wanted to be a park ranger, was undertaking anger management counselling and was very sorry for his actions.

Magistrate Rodney Crisp said assaulting someone in a public place was “alarming”.
“He’s a drunken thug, that’s really the appropriate characterisation,” Mr Crisp said.
“There have been deaths on the Peninsula from people being punched.
“It’s sheer thuggery, no two ways about it.”
Bradshaw was given an 18-month community corrections order and must do 250 hours of unpaid work.
He was also disqualified from driving for two years, convicted and fined $3000.
