VISITORS to Warburton’s stunning Redwood Forest will no longer be caught short, with the state government finally bowing to pressure for public facilities there.
The once-hidden gem, which now attracts thousands of tourists a week and is favourite Instagram destination, will get a much-needed $300,000 toilet block.
It’s part of a $1.2 million toilet investment at four of Melbourne’s most popular metropolitan parks, where tourism is expected to surge in the summer months.

Braeside Park, Alfred Nicholas Gardens in the Dandenongs, and the Point Nepean National Park will all receive toilet upgrades.
More than $300,000 will be invested in new toilets at the stunning Redwood Forest, an area that has enjoyed incredible growth in visitor numbers, spurred by its beautiful scenery.
Parks Victoria chief operating officer Simon Talbot said it was great to see such growth in visitation to parks.
“A corresponding boost in infrastructure caters for this growth will allow even more people to enjoy the beautiful open spaces and surrounds,” he said.
“Ensuring that our visitors have access to modern facilities contributes to the creation of a memorable visitor experience.
“Braeside Park, the Dandenong Ranges National Park, Redwood Forest and Point Nepean National Park are all important tourism destinations that attract both local and international visitors. Delivering these upgrades means that everyone who visits these spectacular destinations can continue to enjoy the diverse landscapes, culture and heritage of Victoria.”
