A clock honouring the Rotary Club of Croydon is nowhere to be seen in Croydon Town Square — five months after the space opened.
Maroondah Leader revealed earlier this year Maroondah Council would install the clock in the square to continue the club’s association to the site.
A building belonging to the club was demolished for the $2 million square which opened in April.
Rotary Club of Croydon president Stephen Bowe said he planned to chase up the status of the project with the council.
“The last time we chatted to them, the clock designer hadn’t come back to them,” he said.
“But we’re still excited (about the project), it looks like a great space there and we’re looking forward to getting our name back onto Main St.”
Mayor Rob Steane said the clock was expected to be completed and installed later in the year.
A set of public art panels, which Maroondah Leader understands was also meant to be ready for the square’s opening, will be installed this month.

Cr Steane said the panels would “provide a visual screen between the Town Square and the adjacent small carparking area”.
The council did not say why the clock and the art panels had been delayed.
Meanwhile, the council will also repair a lopsided bench and scrub off graffiti tags in the square.
The damage comes after the square’s $100,000 all-abilities toilet was trashed in May.
Cr Steane said he was disappointed with the damage and encouraged anyone who saw vandals in action to phone police.
